About me

I have over twenty five years experience working with people in public health and educational settings. I work in Central London in private practice and as an honorary psychotherapist for the NHS at the Maudsley Hospital in South London. My background is in art and design, having practiced and lectured in art and photography for some years. I began working as a psychotherapist after realising that many of the blocks to learning and creativity students experienced were influenced by deep seated emotional issues and patterns.

Psychotherapy is a process which can help you understand and resolve difficult emotional issues that may be blocking how you want to live. You might be stuck in a rut or feeling very low. You might be experiencing fear or anxiety. You may be finding relationships hard going, repeating the same patterns, or finding it difficult to feel close to people.

About Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy allows you to explore the things troubling you in a confidential and non-judgemental space. Examining your inner world and discovering feelings and habits that have gone unrecognised can allow you to create positive shifts in mind and enable change. By looking at your life, both past and present, it’s possible to become aware of patterns and motivations that may have been hard to make sense of alone.

Speaking to a therapist is different to the kind of conversations possible with friends, family, even partners. Psychodynamic therapy is different from many other talking therapies in that the goal is deep seated change and personal growth.
